Data protection

How the information you send us is handled.

The SynDNA Lab, as the operator of these pages, takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

It is generally possible to use our website without providing personal data. If personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

We collect and process the personal data of visitors to our websites in compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the State Data Protection Act (LDSG) and, where applicable, the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Project enquiries by e-mail

We do not operate an online submission system. Project enquiries reach us as ordinary e-mail, and the information you choose to include — your name and e-mail address, sequence(s), approximate construct size, intended host, timeline and other project-specific details — is collected only because you send it to us.

We use this information solely to assess and carry out your enquiry. It is treated as confidential, is accessible only to members of the facility, and is not passed on to third parties without your express consent. We retain it only for as long as it is needed for that purpose, or for as long as statutory retention obligations require.

Security of e-mail

We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

If your sequences or project details are particularly sensitive, please contact us before sending them so that we can agree on a more suitable route.

Server log files

The web server serving these pages records the data your browser automatically transmits: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, the file requested, and the time of the request. This data is used only to operate the site securely and reliably, is not merged with other data sources, and is deleted after a short period.

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services, and embeds no third-party content; its typefaces are served from our own server, so viewing these pages makes no request to any third party. The only information stored in your browser is your choice of light or dark appearance, which stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
